"I've been everywhere, man..."
My love of the North American continent, and in particular the western United States, began as a youth in the 70’s, in the form of movies and books from the period. My first travel away from the Mid-Atlantic, in 1994, was a trip to the spectacular Canyonlands region of Utah. After I met Margaret in 1997, my travels across the West (and Europe) greatly expanded- by 2005, and I had been to every state in the union, and most of the Canadian provinces west of the Maritimes. And by 2019, my count of U.S. national park units had risen to 54.
